Don’t use people

People are not objects. If you are *using* a human, you’re manipulating them or taking advantage of them.

Actionable suggestion: when you manage people, refrain from saying (or thinking) “let’s use [person name] to do this”. It’s equally easy to say “[person name] can do this”, and in the latter you acknowledge the person’s humanity.

I don’t think this is about being politically correct. The distinction between being and object is fundamental and we should be aware of it at every level of scale.
