A way to look at LLMs is as a material that you can model. Instead of with your hands, you model it with your words. Your words make things. It’s digital clay, worked upon through language. At this point, it only allows for creating digital artifacts, powered by software and hardware. But it’d not be hard to imagine that this will soon be extended to physical objects.
What amazes me most is not that this is possible today, though that’s amazing of its own right. What amazes me is that language is at the center of it.
